I really should be working on my D20 Modern campaign; school starts back up on August 24th, and although that's almost 2 months away I still gotta be all ready to roll (ohoho, I went there)! I know that most of my watchers probably don't play any sort of tabletop games, but if you're like me and have a healthy interest in the paranormal and you'd like to offer suggestions or anything I'd appreciate it. :]

Things I need to do:

• Finish planning our "vacation spots"; Basically, paranormal hotspots or just weird places, like New Jersey's Pine Barrens, the Parisian Catacombs, and the Winchester House. I'll probably toss in some generic castles at one point or another so we can go to England or Scotland.


• Finish picking what mysterious artifacts we're going to have to collect. I'm thinking 13 would be nice. I'm trying for "actual" objects like the Antikythera Mechanism and Robert the Doll, but I'm also going to use my own if no interesting ones exist, like the Jersey Devil's horns. But I'm trying to make them fit an overall scheme... Gah.


• Finish the dang creatures! The Menace Manual has some of the creatures we'll be encountering, but I'll have to make stats for most of them (although I may just base them off other creatures in the classic Monster Manual, just with different abilities and feats and such). And I'll have to make other NPCs' stats besides the species. Besides encountering cryptids, I also want to toss in some serial killers (a la many urban legends) and some more "modern" monsters like werewolves and vampires and zombies... And possibly a kaiju.


• Maps. I want to make flat, semi-detailed land maps, so I can lay them under a transparent grid, since we're going to be going to some interesting locations and such.


• I have to figure out some way to make stand-ins for miniatures, since obviously we're not going to have any of cryptids, heh. I've been looking at other methods online, and printed pictures on metal washers or card-stock stands sounds promising. Or we could just use candy pieces for enemies and eat 'em when we kill 'em.


• Figure out what the PC's organization is called and what exactly it does, as well as the enemy organization. I have the basic plot line down, though. It's certainly a government organization, and it's for paranormal investigation and cover-ups.

So yeah; I have my work cut out for me, but it's going to pay off so well when it's all said and done. I'm quite pumped for the whole thing.
